Daming Palace National Heritage Park

Located in Xi’an’s Xincheng District, Shaanxi Province, Daming Palace National Heritage Park blends historical ruins with scenic beauty.

Once the royal palace of the Tang Dynasty, Daming Palace was among the world’s largest palace complexes, showcasing the architectural grandeur and cultural achievements of the time. Despite being destroyed by war and falling into ruin, the site underwent extensive archaeological excavations and restorations, reopening in 2009 as a major cultural tourism destination. The park spans 8 kilometers of palace walls, gates, and a central axis, with key attractions including the Danfengmen Ruins, Zuoyintaimen Ruins, Zichendian Ruins, Lindedian Ruins, Hanyuandian Ruins, and the Daming Palace Site Museum. Offering a mix of archaeology, research, education, and entertainment, the park provides visitors a famous Xi’an tourist attraction with a deeper understanding of Tang Dynasty history and culture.
